Volunteer Opportunities:
Fund Development Committee
The Fund Development Committee develops an annual fundraising plan that brings various streams of income to support the mission of The 2Gethers Foundation. This plan shall include identifying and soliciting grants, donations, product/merchandise sales, and specific fundraising initiatives/events.
Members of this committee shall be responsible for executing the developed annual fundraising plan. This includes taking the lead in certain types of events/activities identified in the plan (i.e. popcorn fundraiser, pancake breakfast, game night, etc…) to raise funds to meet program goals.
Community Outreach Committee
The Community Outreach Committee works to ensure that The 2Gethers Foundation maintains appropriate relationships within the Greater Chicagoland and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex areas. Members of this committee lead our “Fuel for Finals” initiative on College Campuses. This takes place once per semester. The Fuel for Finals Initiative consists of giving away healthy snack packs and toiletries to students on college campuses during final exam season.
Committee responsibilities include:
Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee provides leadership for The 2Gethers Foundation’s Signature Events (i.e. Dare 2 Dream. Dare 2 Soar. Dare 2 Finish! Scholarship Awards Gala & Silent Auction; 1St Annual Golf Tournament –Scholarship Fundraiser). Committee members will orchestrate the overall events, provide suggestions and advice as needed and stay within event budgets.
Specific responsibilities include:
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee advises the Board of Directors of The 2Gethers Foundation on the awarding of scholarships. The Committee shall be composed of at least three members and no more than seven members.
Specific duties and responsibilities of the Scholarship Committee include:
Program Committee
The Program Committee defines and implements innovative programs for high school and college scholars and parents. This includes workshops and implementation of The Defy the Odds Mentoring and Leadership Program.
Composition of Committees
A 2Gethers Foundation Board of Director may serve as Committee Chair. Additional committee members will include non-Board of Directors such as nonprofit community partners, and community members at-large, and other volunteers.
Committee Meetings
All committees shall meet a minimum of four times per year (if applicable) and may conduct additional meetings as necessary.

- Identify at least 1-2 colleges/universities per semester to host the Fuel for Finals initiative on campus.
- Identify and solicit in-kind donations from local businesses and organizations to support Fuel for Finals.
- Identify community programs/events in which The 2Gethers Foundation should have a presence.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives.
Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee provides leadership for The 2Gethers Foundation’s Signature Events (i.e. Dare 2 Dream. Dare 2 Soar. Dare 2 Finish! Scholarship Awards Gala & Silent Auction; 1St Annual Golf Tournament –Scholarship Fundraiser). Committee members will orchestrate the overall events, provide suggestions and advice as needed and stay within event budgets.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Oversees the entire event and planning process for signature events.
- Develop a preliminary budget for signature events.
- Identify and solicit event sponsorships.
- Identify and solicit items for silent auctions.
- Develop subcommittees to better delegate tasks (i.e. sponsorship, silent auction, etc.).
- Work closely with the Fund Development Committee.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee advises the Board of Directors of The 2Gethers Foundation on the awarding of scholarships. The Committee shall be composed of at least three members and no more than seven members.
Specific duties and responsibilities of the Scholarship Committee include:
- Review all scholarship applications received by The 2Gethers Foundation.
- Rate scholarship applications utilizing an existing or newly developed rubric.
- Issue a written report to the Board of Directors recommending qualified candidates to receive scholarships.
- Advise the Board of Directors in establishing and modifying scholarship application process and other elements of the scholarship program as necessary.
